Brief History
The Indian women's cricket team, often referred to as the Women in Blue, is governed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). They made their One Day International (ODI) debut in 1978 against the West Indies. Since then, the team has grown in stature and competitiveness, reaching the finals of the ODI World Cup in 2005 and 2017 and the T20 World Cup in 2020. With a blend of talented players and increasing support, the Indian women's cricket team continues to inspire a new generation of cricketers and is becoming a prominent force in international cricket.
